  •   As part of uab bank's 9th anniversary celebration, uabians spent their morning on 17th August 2019 with programmes at 2 homes for the visually impaired. Team 1 - was at Yangon Education Centre for the Blind at Khawel Chan Team 2 - was at Kyee Myin Daing Blind School   At these centres, the volunteers spent their time with the children and contributed cash together with a lunch donation.

We are honoured this week to have received yet another award, this time the "Domestic Retail Bank of the Year - Myanmar" award at the prestigious Asian Banking & Finance Awards Ceremony held in Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore on 18th July 2019. The Asian Banking & Finance awards are now in its 14th year and recognises outstanding banks in Asia. In receiving this award, uab bank is proud to be associated with some of the finest banks in Asia.
  • uab bank wins prestigious international bank award! uab bank was named "Myanmar's Best Bank 2019" in the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2019 Asia at a gala dinner held at JW Marriott Hotel, Hong Kong on 16th July 2019. Receiving the award on behalf of the bank was Mr.Christopher Loh, CEO and Daw Kyawt Kay Khaing, Deputy CEO. The award is a recognition of strong management, sound business model and strategy that the bank has implemented as well as its leadership, innovation, and momentum.
  • uab bank together with iGreen Developer and jointly organised  a Home Loan Exhibition at uab Premier Lounge on 18th and 19th May 2019 with a good response from interested home purchasers . This Home Loan Exhibition forms  part of a series of road shows with various selected housing developers.    
  • uab bank is pleased to announce that in the Pwint Thit Sa Report 2019 (Transparency in Myanmar Enterprises Report), uab bank was assessed and placed: No. 5: Overall Transparency reporting No. 1: Amongst banks in Myanmar No. 1: For Corporate Governance. The Pwint Thit Sa Report 2019 is an initiative by Myanmar Centre for Responsible Business in partnership with the consulting firm, Yever.
  • To meet growing investor, consumer, civil society and regulator expectations and to ensure the resilience of lending portfolios, banks have progressed with integrating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors in their businesses. uab participated at the ABA-COFITT Sustainable Finance Workshop organized jointly by the ASEAN Bankers Association, The Association of Banks in Singapore and Myanmar Banks Association on 25th April 2019 in partnership with WWF.
  • At this year's Myanmar New Year, uab employees participated in a time-honoured tradition of releasing fish ( ငါးလႊတ္ပ ြဲ ,nga hlut pwe). Carrying traditional earthern pots, the uab Team walked along Ar Zar Ni Street in Yangon and released fish at Thwaysay Lake with good wishes. Whilst we embrace the modern and pride ourselves in leading change, traditional Myanmar values still form an important part of how we enrich lives.
  • Shareholders, Board of Directors and Senior Management together with the External Auditors engaged in uab bank's AGM on 15th March 2019. This is the 9th AGM of the Bank and the Audited Financial Statements, Directors' Report and Auditors Report were tabled for the acceptance of the Shareholders. Matters with regard to appointment of members of the Board of Directors and re-election of the External Auditors were also tabled and discussed. In accordance with the Corporate Governance Framework of the Bank, AGMs are held annually.
  • In collaboration with Times City, uab bank on 12th and 13th January 2019 participated in the Times City Condominium Sales Expo to introduce uab bank Home Loans with special offers.
