At this year's Myanmar New Year, uab employees participated in a time-honoured tradition of releasing fish ( ငါးလႊတ္ပ ြဲ ,nga hlut pwe). Carrying traditional earthern pots, the uab Team walked along Ar Zar Ni Street in Yangon and released fish at Thwaysay Lake with good wishes. Whilst we embrace the modern and pride ourselves in leading change, traditional Myanmar values still form an important part of how we enrich lives.
Shareholders, Board of Directors and Senior Management together with the External Auditors engaged in uab bank's AGM on 15th March 2019. This is the 9th AGM of the Bank and the Audited Financial Statements, Directors' Report and Auditors Report were tabled for the acceptance of the Shareholders. Matters with regard to appointment of members of the Board of Directors and re-election of the External Auditors were also tabled and discussed. In accordance with the Corporate Governance Framework of the Bank, AGMs are held annually.
In collaboration with Times City, uab bank on 12th and 13th January 2019 participated in the Times City Condominium Sales Expo to introduce uab bank Home Loans with special offers.
“Be the change” is an initiative by uab to bring change to people and communities in Myanmar. Last year, in December 2017, we organized an initiative for year-end giving of gifts to 400 under-privileged children in Yangon.
A Press Conference was held at UAB’s new Premier Lounge on 19th December 2018 to announce the “Be the Change” initiative to grant gifts to 1,000 under-privileged children. The “Be the change” event will be held at Junction Square on 25th December 2018.
